TABLE OF CONTENTS

Ask questions about your organization’s Wayground usage in plain language and get the answer as a table, a single number, or a chart, without building a report by hand.

New to the area? Start with Get Started with Usage Analytics. For the at-a-glance sections, see The Overview Dashboard; for the detailed tables, see Reports: Detailed Data Tables.

What it is

Ask Wayground AI is a chat assistant built into Usage Analytics. It opens as a panel beside your dashboard and answers questions about your organization’s usage. It introduces itself as “Hi, I’m Wayground AI, your personal analyst on the tool. How can I help you?”

It’s the same plain-language capability behind the Ask anything prompts on the Overview, presented as a full chat. Use it for quick, specific questions; use Reports when you need the complete, exportable dataset.

Note: A reminder appears in the panel: “AI may make mistakes, verify with the reports section.” Treat answers as a fast first read and confirm important numbers against Reports.

Open it

Open Ask Wayground AI from the dashboard. It appears as a panel on the right-hand side of the screen, over either the Overview or Reports.

  • New conversation: select New (top right of the panel) to start a fresh chat

  • Close: select the  to return to the dashboard

Ask a question

Type a question in the box (“Ask anything about your analytics data…”), or select a suggested prompt to start. Examples shown in the product include:

  • “Top teachers by usage last month”

  • “Total science video sessions this school year”

  • “Monthly trend of % accommodated games”

After the first answer, the box changes to “Ask a follow-up question…” so you can keep refining within the same conversation.

How answers appear

The answer comes back in whichever format fits the question:

  • A table for list-style questions (for example, top teachers, with each teacher’s email and school)

  • A single number for totals (for example, total English passage sessions last month)

  • A line chart for trends over time (for example, the monthly trend of sessions)

Each answer includes feedback and copy controls:

  • Thumbs up / thumbs down to rate the answer

  • Copy to copy the answer

Page through table answers using the controls beneath them.

What you can ask about

The assistant covers your Usage Analytics data only. If a question falls outside what it can answer, it says so and points you to the topics it covers. The in-product message reads:

“I wasn’t able to answer that question. Try asking about teacher activity, feature usage, accommodation analytics, standards coverage, or student participation counts.”

In other words, the strongest questions target these areas:

Topic

Example questions

Teacher usage

Top teachers by usage; active teachers over time

Feature usage

Resource types used; share of sessions by type

Accommodation analytics

Students accommodated; most-used accommodations or categories

Standards coverage

Most-used standards; usage for a specific standard

Student participation counts

Responses or sessions; participation totals and trends

Tips

Tip: For the full, sortable, exportable detail behind an answer, open the matching Reports table. The assistant is best for quick questions; Reports is best for complete records and Export.
