Usage Analytics shows administrators how your organization uses Wayground, by school, teacher, and student. Use it to see what’s working and where to focus.

What Usage Analytics is

Usage Analytics is the reporting home for administrators. In one place, you can answer questions like:

  • How many of our schools, teachers, and students are actively using Wayground?

  • Which resource types do teachers use most?

  • How are teachers using Accommodations to support students?

  • How often are students answering questions each week, and are we at Wayground’s recommended level?

  • Which tech-enhanced (state-test-style) question types show up in sessions?

  • Which academic standards get the most use?

  • How does this year compare to last year?

Read the answers at a glance, then open the detail when you need names, numbers, and per-school breakdowns.

Who can use it and how to open it

Usage Analytics is available to administrators in your Wayground organization. To open it:

  1. Go to Admin Controls in the left sidebar.

  2. Select Usage Analytics.

The page header reads Usage Analytics for [your district or organization].

Note: Usage Analytics sits alongside other Admin Controls such as Manage TeachersLMS IntegrationAccommodations, and Resource Hub. The exact items vary by organization and permissions. If you don’t see Usage Analytics, use Contact success partner (bottom left of Admin Controls) to check your access.

Filter what you see

The filter bar at the top right applies to everything below it, in both Overview and Reports.

Filter

What it controls

Time period

The date range. Choose a preset (Current school year, Last 30 days, Last 6 months, or Previous School Year) or pick a custom range from the calendar.

All schools

Limit the view to one or more schools. Opens a searchable list with Select all.

All subjects

Limit the view to one or more subjects (for example, science, physics, and chemistry).

All grades

Limit the view to one or more grade levels (for example, grade 7 or grade 8).

To filter:

  1. Select a filter, for example All schools.

  2. Check the items you want, or use Select all. Search the list to find a specific school.

  3. Choose Done. The cards, charts, and tables update to match.

Tip: Filters stack. Combine time period, school, subject, and grade to answer questions like “How did our middle schools use math content this year?”

Export your data

Use Export (top right) to pull data for offline analysis, sharing, or archiving. Export as .PDF downloads a PDF document. Export as .Excel sends the spreadsheet to your email. Export works best from the Reports tab: sort and filter a table to exactly what you need, then export.

Tip: Set your filters and sort order before exporting, so the file matches what you see. A Last updated label next to Export shows how current the data is.

Ask a question with Ask Wayground AI

Ask Wayground AI (also shown as the Ask anything prompts above the dashboard) answers plain-language questions about your usage, so you don’t have to build a report by hand. It opens a chat panel with suggested prompts like “Top teachers by usage last month.” Select a prompt or type your own question. See Ask Wayground AI.

Where to go next

  • The Overview Dashboard: every summary section, plus how to open detailed breakdowns

  • Reports: Detailed Data Tables: sort, search, and export the detail

  • Metrics and Terms Glossary: confirm exactly what each number means

  • Common Tasks and FAQ: step-by-step recipes for everyday questions

  • Ask Wayground AI: get answers to specific questions in a chat
