Set up the Wayground<>Canvas LTI integration as an Administrator

For administrators setting up Wayground and Canvas for the first time.

Wayground's Canvas integration lets your teachers assign Wayground activities right inside Canvas, with grades syncing straight back to the Canvas gradebook. Set it up once, and every rostered teacher in your organization can use it, no extra work on their end.

Here's what you get:

• Single sign-on (SSO)

• Automatic student rostering

• Activity deep-linking

• Grade sync to the Canvas gradebook

Already have Wayground connected to Canvas? You don't need this guide, jump to the FAQ below.

Before you start, make sure you have:

1. · A Wayground Schools & Districts plan

2. · Admin access to Canvas

3. · A Wayground administrator account for the organization you're connecting

Setting up the integration

1. In Canvas, go to Admin > Apps > Discover. 

2. Search for "Wayground," open it, and select Install.

3. When Canvas hands off to Wayground, sign in with your Wayground administrator account.

4. Pick the Wayground organization this integration should belong to. (If you only administer one eligible organization, Canvas skips this step for you.)

5. Wayground registers the integration and sends you back to Canvas automatically.

6. Canvas shows a couple of permission and placement screens, accept each one to finish.

Confirm it worked

Add a Wayground activity to a test course in Canvas and open it. If it launches and takes you into Wayground, you're all set.

FAQ

A teacher says they can't find Wayground, or got a message telling them to "get rostered." What's going on? Only teachers rostered on your Wayground Schools & Districts plan can use the integration. Add them to the plan and they'll be able to link Wayground activities right away.
