TABLE OF CONTENTS

Create quizzes and flashcards in seconds — right inside your Claude chat. The Wayground connector lets you describe what you need in plain language, and Claude builds it for you. Every activity is saved to your Wayground account automatically, ready to assign to your students.

What You’ll Need

1. A Wayground account (free or paid). Sign up or log in at wayground.com.

2. A Claude account (free or paid). Sign up or log in at claude.ai.

3. A supported web browser (such as Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox), or the Claude desktop or mobile app.

How to Connect Wayground to Claude

You only need to do this once.

1. Open Claude at claude.ai or in the Claude app.

2. Click the + button in the chat input box, or type / to open the menu.

3. Click Connectors → Browse connectors. (Or go to Settings → Connectors.)

4. Search for Wayground and click Connect.

5. A new browser tab will open. Sign in to your Wayground account and approve the connection.

6. The tab closes automatically. The connector now shows as Connected — you’re all set!

Tip

If the browser tab doesn’t open, your pop-up blocker may be preventing it. Allows pop-up for claude.ai and try again.

How to Create a Quiz or Flashcard Set

The process is the same for both quizzes and flashcards.

1. Start a new chat in Claude (or continue an existing one).

2. Type a request describing what you need. Include the topic, grade level, and number of questions or cards.

3. Claude generates the activity and displays it in a Wayground-style interactive card inside the chat.

4. The activity is automatically saved to your Wayground account. Click the link in the card to open it in Wayground.

Important

Quizzes created through Claude support multiple-choice (MCQ) questions only. To add other question types, open the quiz in Wayground and edit it there.

Example prompts

Copy and paste any of these into Claude:

"Create a 10-question multiple-choice quiz on fractions for Grade 5, medium difficulty."

"Make a quiz with 8 questions about the water cycle for my 4th graders. Include questions about evaporation, condensation, and precipitation."

"Generate a 12-question quiz on the causes of the American Revolution for Grade 8. Align the questions to Common Core standards."

"Make a set of 15 flashcards on the water cycle for Grade 3."

"Create 20 vocabulary flashcards for a Grade 6 ELA unit on Greek and Latin roots."

Tips for Writing Great Prompts

The more detail you give Claude, the better your results will be. Here are some tips:

  • State the grade level. For example: "for Grade 4" or "for my 7th graders."

  • Name the subject and topic. For example: "a quiz on photosynthesis" or "flashcards on multiplication facts."

  • Specify the number of questions or cards. For example: "10 questions" or "15 flashcards."

  • Mention difficulty level. For example: "easy," "medium," or "challenging."

  • Ask for standards alignment. For example: "Align to CCSS Math 5.NF.B.6" or "Cover TEKS standard 111.40.c.3.F."

  • Give context about your class. For example: "My students just finished a unit on fractions and are ready for mixed numbers."

How Editing Works

You can ask Claude to change or improve any activity it creates — for example, “Change question 3 to be about improper fractions.”

Important

Each edit creates a brand-new activity with a new link. The original stays unchanged in your Wayground account.

This means your library may accumulate multiple versions over time. We recommend making all changes in Claude first, then using the final link. You can delete earlier drafts from your Wayground library.

Accessing Your Activities in Wayground

There are two ways to find your activities:

  • From Claude: Click the link on the interactive card in your chat.

  • From Wayground: Log in at wayground.com and go to your Library.

From Wayground, you can assign activities to students, share them with other teachers, edit them further (including adding question types beyond MCQ), and review student reports.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Wayground connector free to use?

Yes. Connecting Wayground to Claude is free and works with both free and paid accounts on either platform.

Which Claude plan do I need?

Any plan works, including free. Free Claude accounts allow one custom connector at a time.

Does this work on my phone or tablet?

Yes. You can use the connector in the Claude mobile app or through your phone’s browser at claude.ai.

How do I disconnect Wayground from Claude?

Go to Settings → Connectors in Claude, find Wayground, and click Disconnect.

Troubleshooting

I can’t find the Wayground connector.  Search for “Wayground” (not “Quizizz”) in the Connectors Directory. Try refreshing the page or switching browsers.

The sign-in window didn’t open.  Your browser may be blocking pop-ups. Allow pop-ups for claude.ai and try again.

My activity didn’t save to Wayground.  Check that you’re signed in to the correct Wayground account. Refresh your library. If it still doesn’t appear, disconnect and reconnect the connector.

Claude isn’t generating an activity.  Make your prompt more specific (include topic, grade level, and number of questions/cards). Confirm the connector shows as Connected in your settings.

What Happens Behind the Scenes

When you type a request, Claude reads your prompt, sends it to Wayground’s activity-creation tools, and receives the finished quiz or flashcard set back. The activity is saved to your account and displayed as an interactive card in your chat — all in seconds.
