Students can add animated Auras to their Qbits: glowing, colorful effects that surround their character and give them a fun new way to express themselves on Wayground.

What are Qbit Auras?

Auras are animated effects that appear around a student's Qbit, like flames, sparkles, or energy bursts. Each one has its own animation, colors, and particle effects, so students have a wide range of looks to choose from.

Students can get Auras in two ways:

• Preset Auras: ready-made styles available in the Avatar Shop, each with its own name and theme

• AI-generated Auras: custom Auras that students create by typing a short description of what they want. It’s a single prompt, not a chat: students enter one description at a time, and the system generates an Aura from it.

Both options cost coins, which students earn through daily logins and active play on Wayground, including using Power-ups and answering accurately. To learn more about how students earn and spend coins, see Earn Coins to Shop for Your Qbits!.

Why Auras matter

Auras give students a creative, visible reward they can show off on their Qbit. When students have something exciting to work toward, they are more motivated to keep showing up and participating on Wayground.

The Aura Lab takes this further by letting students describe and fine-tune their own effects, giving them genuine creative expression in a safe, guided environment.

How students access and create Auras

To open the Avatar Shop, students click Go to shop on the join page, or click the edit (pencil) icon on their Qbit from the student dashboard.

Inside the shop, the Auras tab (marked with a sparkles icon) shows all available Auras: presets with names, any Auras the student has already created, and a Generate your Aura option for creating custom ones.

Generating a custom Aura in the Aura Lab

When a student selects Generate your Aura, they enter the Aura Lab, a dedicated page where they can create their own Aura.

1. Type a description of the Aura they want (up to 60 characters), or choose from suggested prompts provided on the screen.

2. Click Generate. A confirmation dialog shows the coin cost and notes that coins spent on generating an Aura are not refundable

3. Once the Aura is ready, the Tweak your aura panel lets them adjust the physics style, vibe, particle size, and particle speed, with a live preview on their Qbit.
   
   
   

4. When they are happy with the result, they click Save & exit. The Aura saves automatically, and once the panel closes the Qbit appears with the new Aura on the waiting screen before a session starts.

Safety and content moderation

AI-powered Aura generation has built-in guardrails that keep content school-appropriate. The system blocks offensive or inappropriate language in the prompt, and it also screens the generated Aura itself, so unsuitable results are caught even when the prompt looks fine on its own.

Good to know

• Auras are a cosmetic feature and do not affect grades, scores, or academic data

• Students need to earn coins by playing on Wayground before they can buy or generate Auras

• Qbit Auras are available to all students with access to the Avatar Shop
