⚠️ If you’re unable to import or copy Wayground LTI assignments
This feature works only when the following custom field is added in the Canvas Developer Key during integration: context_id_history=$Context.id.history
For new Canvas installations, this field is added automatically.
For existing LTI setups, your Canvas Admin may need to configure it manually.
Ask your Canvas Admin to follow these steps:
Go to ‘Admin’ in Canvas
Select the Account where the Wayground LTI tool is installed
Open Developer Keys from the left panel
Click the Edit (pencil) icon next to the relevant Developer Key
Scroll down and click on ‘Additional Settings’
Locate the ‘Custom Fields’ section
Add a new line on top with the value: context_id_history=$Context.id.history
Click on ‘Save’

If you’re unable to import or copy Wayground LTI assignments, it may mean this field hasn’t been added yet. Request your Canvas Admin to complete the configuration above.

Important: Enable access for your students
After importing, your assignments will appear for students, but they won’t be able to open them until you enable access.
To enable access, click on the imported assignment to open it. You may close the same once the assignment opens.
This step confirms your ownership and establishes the connection between Wayground and your new Canvas course.
Once you do this, your students will be able to open and attempt the assignment without any issues.
⚠️ Skipping this step may result in access errors for students.
