This guide will walk you through how to join and complete a Common Assessment on Wayground. The process is straightforward, so you can stay focused on your test.
How to join a Common Assessment session
Your teacher will guide you on how to access the assessment. You’ll usually join in one of these ways:
From your Wayground Dashboard: After logging in, you’ll see a notification for the assessment if it has been assigned to your Wayground, Clever, or ClassLink class. Click on 'Start Assessment' to join
From your LMS class page: If the assessment is assigned through Google Classroom, Canvas, or Schoology, click on the assessment link posted on your LMS class page
After clicking the link, you’ll enter the assessment lobby. Wait here until your teacher admits you to the session.

Using the LockDown browser
If your assessment requires LockDown browser, you’ll see a prompt when you join.
Installation: If it’s not already installed, follow the guided steps to download and install it
Pre-test Check: Use the test button on the launch screen to confirm your device is ready
Secure environment: Once inside, you won’t be able to visit other websites, open apps, or copy/print content
Answering questions
While taking the Common Assessment, you have several tools to help you navigate and manage your answers during the session:
Skip: If you are unsure about a question, click on 'Next' to move forward. Unanswered questions will be marked so you can return later
Mark for Review: If you want to review an item before submitting, click on the 'Mark for review' button. This will flag the question and make it easy to find when you review your work at the end of the session
Submit: Once you have answered all questions and are confident in your responses, click on the 'Submit Test' button to submit your assessment responses
Resuming a paused session
If your teacher pauses the assessment or you close the window by mistake, your progress will be saved.
To resume the Common Assessment session:
Return to the Common Assessment session using the same link or dashboard notification
Wait to be re-admitted by your teacher
Resume right where you left off
Note: You cannot resume if your teacher has ended your attempt or if you’ve already submitted. In those cases, you would need to start a fresh attempt and be admitted by your teacher.
